Critical Role Season Four Introduces the Warriors Table

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.

Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of characters who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.

The combat-focused team features Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

Dividing the Cast

Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.

Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.

Characteristics of the Warrior Group

As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.

Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the events of the latest installment show why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.

The traitor then paid off his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Moreover, each character has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
  • Kattigan has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous place.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • But, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could help the team enter places they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, Teor pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.

Fugitives

Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This results in them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.

Upcoming Developments

According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Questers and Planners parties.

Fans can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
